Consignment Service If you are more concerned with maximizing your realized price than with completing a quick direct sale transaction, consider our consignment service. The consignment plan is often your best option when dealing with items of ambiguous value. It is also particularly well suited to the sale of collector’s estates, museum deaccessions, or other similar situations where the seller must document the proper discharge of a fiduciary responsibility to heirs, a board of directors, or other interested third parties. AGM will handle the sale of the item(s) for a commission on the sale price. The commission varies with the value of the individual items: PRICING YOUR ITEMS: You can set your prices, or we can assist by pricing items for you if you would like us to do so. Remember: if you calculate your price by figuring a maximum high retail price and then add more to “cover the commission,” you will almost certainly not sell the item. Fairly priced items sell - overpriced items collect dust on a shelf. PAYMENT: You will receive a check for your sold items, less commission when the books are closed on the catalog in which the items sold. We begin sending consignor payments 9 weeks after the close of the catalog. This allows us time to finalize lay-away invoices, deal with overseas customers, any item returns, etc. UNSOLD ITEMS: We will be glad to re-run any unsold items for you in future catalogs, space permitting. These ‘transfer’ items should be reduced in price by at least 10% to improve their prospects for sale. Unlike other consignment services, if you wish to have your unsold items shipped back to you, we are glad to do this at no extra charge to you! OR, you can print them out directly from this link. PICK-UP SERVICE: We will travel to pick up large collections: call us to make arrangements or for more scheduling details. If you have a small or moderate size consignment that is practical to ship, we now offer FEDEX GROUND pickup service. This is more convenient than UPS, and is usually a bit less expensive, also. Shipping is at your expense, but we will arrange the pick-up on our account, and subtract the shipping from your consignment check. This way you are not burdened by up-front expences.
